About the Pride

Over a four-year period from 2023 to 2026, the alliance has driven Pride movements across northern provinces—including Chiang Mai Pride and Lampang Youth Pride—under the core philosophy "Resist with Pride". Viewing Pride not as mere celebration but as a political and social movement for human rights and gender justice, the network connects LGBTQIAN+ equality with youth ecological health and campaigns for structural legal reforms, including the Gender Equality Act B.E. 2558, Equal Marriage, Domestic Violence laws, and the Gender Recognition Draft Bill.

A major strategic highlight of the network's work is the 1st Youth Pride Forum held at Bangkok Pride Forum 2025, titled "Youth Talk: Bodies, Borders, and the Biosphere 'Gender x Ecological Health'" at Discovery Plaza. Moderated by Tonkla Thaksin Bamrungthai, the panel featured six youth delegates representing four regions who raised critical community health risks and rights violations. Their presentations addressed underage drinking in the Northeast, rising STI rates and social stigma in the South, e-cigarette exploitation in Central Thailand, gender discrimination in northern schools, domestic violence against LGBTQ+ youth, and the urgent need for safe, creative public spaces.

Building on this momentum, the 2nd Youth Pride Forum took place in 2026 under the theme "Voices of Pride: Speak Shift Shape" at Siam Paragon, co-organized by YHPM across four regions and allied youth foundations. The event combined regional youth panel discussions ("Speak"), a collaborative workshop ("Shift/Shape") formulating concrete policy recommendations on e-cigarette sales controls and community space funding, and a Call to Action declaring that "children are the present of the nation". The 2026 forum also anchored key legal reform agendas under Legal Shift 2026, targeting amendments to the Domestic Violence Act regarding coercive control, the Sexual Harassment criminal code, the Alcohol Control Act, and broader gender protection frameworks.
